This is a 10 year old North Korean playing Trace Bundy’s version of Canon. It’s a little rusty, but for a ten year old, this little chap deserves an awful lot of respect for what he’s achieved, and is bound to achieve if he carries on. Just watch in amazement. I couldn’t do this when I was ten! I don’t know about you! He must have started playing when he was naught.

I have finally pulled my finger out and finished transcribing the tab of Cavatina by Stanley Myers. It is in the arrangement that I play, but I have broken it down in to sections so that they can be swapped around to fit other arrangements, i.e. I play section A twice then Section B then Section A again and then finish with section C. I have however heard other people play it in a slightly different order (A, B, A, C) or whatever.
Anyway, enough talking rubbish. Lets get down to business. Here is the tab:
Remember to listen to the recording if you have it, or if not then watch this video: [staticpage:cavatina]. Listening to a piece of music is the best way to help you learn it. And when you know it well enough, try and play along with it.
Now get cracking. If you’re stating this from scratch and haven’t played much classical guitar before then you are about to embark upon a real adventure. Good luck! Don’t give up. Post your questions on this blog or send me an email.

This in my opinion is the most raw of all extreme sports I have seen. I firmly believe that thisis what all boys (the one’s who didn’t kill themselves trying) would be able to do if their mothers didn’t tell them to… “stop climbing on that, you’ll hurt yourself!”. Or something similar.
Click on the video once it has started playing to go to youtube and see more videos of Free Runners. You might also want to search for “Yamikase”, “Parkour” or “David Belle”.
Sometimes your mind feels this free when playing the guitar. It also feels this way when Scuba diving, Snowboarding, Surfing, Mountain Biking, Freediving or anything else that requires intense mental concentration for extended periods of time. This is what life is all about. And here is another one:
Cavatina Part two
OK, not quite. I’m still finding time to create the tab for the next part. It will come very soon I promise! I could just post another tab from a google search but it may nopt be the same way that I play it. It’s only fair to my students that I create the tab myself. Until I post it (hopefully in the next day or two) here is a nice video of someone on youtube playing it for you:
Hats off to the guy. He plays it a little better than me, even when I’m having a good day. Respect is due.
